Aether Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 31, 2026
Aether ("we", "us") is a personal task orchestrator that reads signals you connect — tasks you create, and optionally your Google Calendar and Gmail — to help you plan your day. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.
1. What we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and profile picture, from either email/password sign-up or Google sign-in.
- Tasks you create: title, description, status, priority, and due date, stored in our database.
- Calendar data (only if you connect Google Calendar): your upcoming event titles, descriptions, and times, for the next 7 days at a time. We store this as tasks in our database, linked back to the source calendar event.
- Email data (only if you connect Gmail): we read recent message subject lines and content to identify actionable items. We do not store full email bodies — only the task title and a short summary we extract from each message, plus a reference ID so we don't re-process the same email twice.
- Agent activity: when you run an agent (like Daily Review), we log what it did — a summary of its output and which actions it took — so runs are auditable. We do not log the full content of your tasks or emails as part of this trace beyond what's needed to explain the action taken (e.g. "raised priority on task X").
2. How we use it
We use your data solely to power Aether's features: extracting and prioritizing tasks, and generating daily plans. To do this, task and calendar/email-derived content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing (e.g. deciding task priority, summarizing a day's plan). Anthropic processes this data under their own API terms and does not use API inputs to train their models by default.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Google user data ("Limited Use")
Aether's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs (Calendar and Gmail) to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only request the minimum scopes needed for the feature you're enabling (calendar read-only, or Gmail read-only), and only after you explicitly opt in — never as part of basic sign-in.
- We use Google data only to provide and improve the task orchestration features visible to you in the product — not for advertising, and not for anything unrelated to those features.
- We do not allow humans to read your Gmail or Calendar data except with your explicit consent, to investigate a bug or abuse report you've reported, for security purposes, to comply with the law, or on a temporary, aggregated, and anonymized basis for internal operations.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the feature (Anthropic's API, to generate your plan), to comply with the law, as part of a merger or acquisition (with continued adherence to this policy), or with your explicit consent.
4. Your controls
- Disconnect anytime: revoke Aether's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or ask us to disconnect Calendar/Gmail sync without affecting your Aether sign-in.
- Delete your data: contact us (below) to delete your account and all associated tasks, memories, and agent run history.
5. Data retention
Tasks, memories, and agent run logs persist until you delete them or delete your account. Raw email bodies are never stored — only the extracted task and a short summary. Calendar events are re-synced (not accumulated indefinitely); disconnecting Calendar stops future syncs but doesn't retroactively delete already-created tasks.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by our database and hosting providers. Access to production data is limited to what's needed to operate the service.
7. Children's privacy
Aether is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Aether after a change means you accept the updated policy.
